Re: How to setup a differential backup

Where are you storing the archives?

If you chose a Linux destination you will not see the option to run differentials.

Re: How to setup a differential backup

No differential Linux backups? That is a real, real shame. Can differential backups be made to a Windows Professional 2000 machine?

Re: How to setup a differential backup

Differentials are not supported for linux destinations.
Are you asking if you can run vRanger inside a windows 2000 OS and the destination be an NTFS partition where you store the backup archives?

Re: How to setup a differential backup

Ah, sorry about the confusion. I was wondering if differential backups could be carried out by vRanger (Windows 2k3) to a remote computer running Windows 2000 Professional (NTFS)?

Say, if there is an NTFS partition on a remote Linux machine running Samba, I don't suppose that differential backups would work (obviously I'm desparate here)?

Re: How to setup a differential backup

vRanger running on w2k3 with backups going to a remote computer running windows 2000 professional on the same LAN would work.

Your second scenario with the NTFS partition on a remote Linux machine running Samba this has not been tested.
