Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

Just a note.  Ran the same backup with "Perform Network Backup On Failure" checked and it ran a LAN based backup.  Something must be up with VCB.  I notice when running a VCB only backup it tries to create a directory d:\vms\"VM machine name" however on a LAN based backup it dumps the file directly to d:\vms?

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

Are you able to run VCB manually against this vm?  In disk management are they any red or bad luns?

What's the install path for vRanger and VCb framework..

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

I'll have to lookup the commands to run manually - that's the beauty of vRanger, it hides that stuff from you.  Always good to know manual way though.

Disk are fine and LUN aligement is fine.

    Install path is default.

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

Here's a sample command.  not exactly what we use but should test out VBC

    vcbMounter -h <vchost> -u <user> -p <pw> -m san -a ipaddr:<guest FQDN> -r <windows path> -M 1 -F 1

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

Buckmaster, I received a similar error on some of the vRanger / VCB backups. In these cases it would successfully backup all the non-VMDK files, and then choke on the VMDKs. The issue in my case was to do with MPIO being enabled on the VCB server.

Multipath and VCB have many known vmware side issues

No multi path.  This is iSCSI not fiber and I have only 1 NIC.

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

Have you tried going to a whole different folder?  Are these ISCSI HBA's or using the software intitators

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

Wow.  I guess you wanted to make a point - just kidding.  SW initiator and I'll try a different folder and let you know.  Another question.  When I run a LAN backup "no VCB checked" it creates a tarball and a info file.  When I run a VCB backup it creates a folder with a butch of files for the backup.  Just curious why don't we create the same structure for VCB as LAN backups.  I like the tarball structure better?

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

We do create and archive in the folder (compressed VCB) but once the vcblauncher window initiates VCBMounter it's really all VCB from there.  Meaning VCB creates the folder not vRanger.

Sorry I hear alot about those liking just the 2 files etc..

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

So I am taking it that Vizioncore doesn't have a fix for this problem.  I am having the exact same issue and it is driving me nuts.  There are a few VM's whose jobs won't complete, always with this error.  The folders get created, everything plugs along and then it blows up on some statistics garbage.

Re: Error: Could not find a part of the path

We should be able to work with you on this.  It may take more deep investigation than can be accompl;ished via the forum.  I would email support@vizioncore.com regarding the issue and attach one of the vzbbx log files from the failed backup.

You've tried going to another folder on "D".  In disk management on the vRanger box are any disk notated in RED?
